Mashups are a key element in Web 2.0. A mashup is a the combining of two or more services into a single application utilizing their API’s as the glue. By combining disparate services, whole new opportunities bloom.

The first mashup that caught my attention was Housing Maps which combines Google Maps with Craigslist real estate listings.

Really there is no point in me covering all of the cool new mashups when the team at Programmable Web are doing such a fine job.

Check out their comprehensive directory of mashups here. Careful, you may end up wasting investing an afternoon checking out them all out..
