I’m proud to announce Zigtag has qualified for the Dragon’s Den, thank you for everyone who voted for me.

It’s a super interesting concept in that I’ve got 30 minutes to convince them to invest in Zigtag at the end of the taping they either decide to invest individually, in a syndicate or not at all. We negotiate the investment and equity on the spot and if all the stars align, shake hands and have a done deal. THAT is a pretty pressure filled 30 minutes.

These investors have to have some serious instincts to be able to invest 5 or 6 figures in companies with about 30 minutes of due diligence. Pretty wild! Rumor has it they’ll see upwards of 100 deals in the next week. The show will air on CBC in Canada in October.
Tomorrow the five dragons I’ll be facing are:

* Kevin O’Leary, popular host of ROB TV’s SqueezePlay, he sold his educational software firm to Mattel for $3.2 billion dollars.
* Robert Herjavec, sold his IT security firm at the height of the dot.com boom for over a $100 million dollars.
* Lawerence Lewin, founder of La Senza, a chain of lingerie shops with more than 194 stores around the world.
* Jim Treliving, a former RCMP officer who now owns Boston Pizza. In 2005, his resturants generated well over $400 million in sales.
* Jennifer Wood, whose career in the cattle business started in 1990, and is now one of the most influential executives in the Canada’s beef industry.

The 5 dragons are all Canadian success stories. Self-made millionaires. I respect that!

Wish me luck! Hopefully I survive the attack of the dragons.
