Web 2.0 Central » Edgeio Launches

Edgeio, created by Keith Teare and Micheal Arrington of Techcrunch launched today.

Edgeio is a decentralized and distributed Craigslist. Post your classified information on your blog or website. Tag it with a ‘listing’ tag and it’s aggregated into the Edgeio world. From there you can head to the Edgeio site to add additonal metadata.

Once your data is in Edgeio you can place it on your website or blog so people know what you have for sale.

Seems to me to have a few challenges to overcome including:

  • getting people to adopt the listing tag
  • getting a big enough audience of both buyers and sellers
  • a sustainable revenue model
The most promising solution to point #2 is the potential mashups of classifieds on the web. With over 1,000 listings already in the system, they look off to a good start.

Hi Reg

I can’t read your email address because the linkcolor is orange and the background too.

And I don’t use outlook.

You promote Web 2.0.
I hope you are able to create a email formular although it is a technic of the web 1.0.

It seems that web 2.0 have never heard about usability but usability websites are the best way to create interactivity with user.

regards
Monika
