Web 2.0 Central » Kayak - Ajax Flight Search Engine

Kayak is a great flight search engine.

Their use of AJAX, makes it super easy to find the right flight.

The first piece of very useful AJAX comes to light when inserting your departure and arrival cities, rather than giving you the options after submission it uses a live search to give you the airports available.

Next, after it’s dropped in your possible flights, it allows you to filter your flight in real time by # of stops, airlines, departure and arrival times and price. The updates occur via AJAX, which makes the process fast and efficient.

The savings on both the price of the flights AND the time it takes to find them will keep me coming back.

It’s OK I suppose, though it could look a little nicer.

NIT,

Looks like they’ve got a bit of a default issue. Rather than hitting ‘return’ once you’ve selected your cities, physically click on the Search button.

That should fix it.

Eddmun,

Yes, the look is fairly basic, though I think they’ve kept it clean and usable.
